ITINERARY AND DESCRIPTIONSDAY 1 TRAVEL NAIROBI TO NANYUKIPick up from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 7AM then head to Nanyuki via the Central part of Kenya, the equator then Ol Pejeta conservancy Nanyuki.Ol Pejeta is the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa, and home to two of the world’s last remaining northern white rhinos. It is the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees, in a sanctuary established to rehabilitate animals rescued from the black market. It has some of the highest predator densities in Kenya,Arrive in time for lunch, check in then later head to Morani to see and feed Baraka the blind rhino and learn more about Rhino history especially the 2 remaining northern white rhinos.DAY 2 SPEND AT OL PEJETA CONSERVANCYHave breakfast, then head to the Chimpanzees sanctuary to see them and learn more about them. Later, I returned to the camp for lunch. Relax and enjoy camp facilities in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the camp.DAY 3 TRAVEL NANYUKI TO NAKURUHave an early breakfast, check out and depart for Nakuru via scenic Nanyuki – Nyahururu then great rift-valley arriving at Nakuru national park, enroute game drive to the lodge/camp as both are inside the camp. Check in, have lunch then afterwards proceed to the park for game drives/relax and enjoy the hotel facilities.Lake Nakuru is best known for the Flamingoes, Rhinos, bird life and it’s in the great rift valley.DAY 4 TRAVEL NAKURU TO MAASAI MARAHave breakfast, check out and head to Maasai mara with enroute game drive at Nakuru national park.Maasai Mara (Masai Mara) is known as Africa’s greatest wildlife reserve, situated in the southwest Kenya. Famous for the abundance lions, the Great wildebeest migration, where over 1 million wildebeest and zebras follow annual migration route from and to Serengeti to Maasai Mara and the Maasai people well known for their distinctive custom and dress, it is without a doubt one of the most famous safari destination.Maasai Mara National Reserve stretches 1,510sq km (580sq miles) and raise 1,500-2,170 meters above sea level. The terrain of the reserve is primarily grassland and riverine forest with clumps of the acacia trees. It’s about 270km from the capital city Nairobi and takes 5-6hrs by road or 45 minutes by flight.The Maasai Mara Ecosystem holds one of the highest lion densities in the world and this is where over two million wildebeest, zebra and Thompsons Gazelle migrate annually. Its host’s over95 species of mammals and 570 recorded species of bird. This is considered the 8th wonder of the world.Arrive in the afternoon with enroute game drive to the camp. Have lunch then later proceed to the park for afternoon game drives at 1600hrs to 1800hrs followed by Dinner and overnight stay at the camp/lodgeDAY 5 MAASAI MARAFull day is spent exploring the park in search of the big five.Early morning 1 hour balloon safari, pick up at 5AM.Flying high up in the skies above the Masai Mara is the ultimate safari experience. The landscape below is a never-ending exciting mixture of riverine forests, sprawling savannahs, towering escarpments and rugged rivers. Against a backdrop of stunning sunrises, hot-air balloon flights in the Masai Mara give you a unique vantage point of the abundant wildlife living below. There’s really nothing quite like it, the view is unparalleled and the experience is unforgettable.Afterwards meet up with your driver guide and continue with game drives.The Mara offers wildlife in such a great variety and abundance that is truly difficult to believe. Over 450 species of animals have been recorded here, you will easily see rhinos, leopard, elephants, buffalo, wildebeests, zebra, warthog, Jackals, lions, many types of antelopes, crocodiles and giraffe.Although July, August and September are the months when the Mara plains are filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra from Serengeti (Tanzania). The famous Maasai tribesmen live within the dispersal area of the game reserve, Picnic lunch is served in the park. In the evening return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at the camp/lodge DAY 6 MAASAI TO NAIVASHAHave breakfast at the camp, check out and head to Naivasha with enroute game drive. Arrive in Naivasha at time for lunch. Naivasha is in the great rift-valley best known for Hells gate, Lake Naivasha, Hippos, Flamingos, birdlife and crescent island.It is great for hiking, biking, swimming in a pool heated by natural geothermal hot springs, mountain climbing at the extinct Mount Longonot and wonderful night life.After lunch head to either Hells gate or Crescent Island via boat.Crescent Island – There is just one “Crescent Island Game Sanctuary”. Located on Lake Naivasha, in the Great Rift Valley, Kenya. It is one of the most beautiful parks in Kenya and is often called Naivasha’s best-kept secret. Surrounded by water, it is actually a peninsula and is currently only accessible by boat from the East or West side.Hells gate – Named for the intense geothermal activity within its boundaries, the Hell’s Gate National Park is a remarkable quarter of the Great Rift Valley. Spectacular scenery including the towering cliffs, water-gouged gorges, stark rock towers, scrub clad volcanoes and belching plumes of geothermal steam make it one of the most atmospheric Parks in Africa.Dinner and overnight at the lodge or resort.DAY 7 TRAVEL TO AMBOSELIHave an early breakfast, check out and head to Amboseli arriving in time for lunch. After lunch proceed to the park for an afternoon game drive, spot large herds of elephants and plentiful plains game against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Enjoy the views overlooking Mount Kilimanjaro. Have Dinner and overnight at the lodge/camp.DAY 8 AMBOSELIHave breakfast then proceed to the park for a half day game drive. The plains offer numerous jackals, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, vervet monkeys, antelopes and the chance of spotting leopard or cheetah. On the Observation hill there is a conical peak which is easy to climb and offers great views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Later return to the lodge in time for lunch. After lunch you can take an optional visit to authentic Masai village. Have Dinner and overnight at the Lodge/camp.DAY 9 AMBOSELI – NAIROBIHave breakfast then check out and head back to Nairobi with enroute lunch at own cost. Arrive in the evening and head to Carnivore restaurant Nairobi for dinner. Carnivore’s specialty is meat, and features an all-you-can-eat meat buffet. Overnight at NairobiDAY 10 END OF SAFARIHave breakfast,If time allows, do a Nairobi last half day trip to Giraffe center or head to JKIA to catch your international flight.THIS ITINERARY can be changed at your request. There are many other attractions beside the listed ones which we can propose, and we do not mind giving you a completely different one to suit your preferences.There are themes like culture, museums, wildlife, sports, paragliding, farm visits, hikes, mountaineering, nightlife, etc. The crown Jewel is of course the Wildebeeste Migration in July/August in the Mara, Hot Air Balloon Safari in the Mara, and Nairobi National Park, but visiting Kenya presents a versatility in planning that makes for a wonderful experience. |
