Seven kilometres North of Mombasa Island is the Voyager Beach Resort. This resort is a coastal oasis seamlessly blending luxury and adventure in Mombasa.

From luxurious accommodations to thrilling beach escapades, Voyager Beach Resort has everything you need for an amazing vacation. This resort is among the best hotels in Mombasa.
Join me as I unravel the secrets of this coastal haven, where luxury meets adventure, creating an unforgettable holiday experience.
Voyager Beach Resort: What Makes it Special?
Every resort along the Kenyan coast has its unique points that draw more guests. I noticed the following when I visited the Voyager Beach Resort in Mombasa.
Secured Parking
I understand that everyone has a special attachment to their vehicle. And anyone can do anything to protect their vehicle. As I noticed, this resort understands that, and has secured parking for your car.
Regardless of how long you will stay in the resort, you will rest and enjoy, assured that your car will be in a safe place. In addition, you can also request for your car to be cleaned at an extra fee.
A Complementary Welcome Drink

It was literally my first time in a resort, and I was thrilled to have a drink of my liking, free of charge. Some of my fellow travellers in that resort took the famous palm wine (mnazi) and other drinks as I enjoyed a delmonte.
Actually, I began liking the Voyager Beach Resort due to the welcome drink and their cool staff. And it’s always a norm for the welcome drink, whether you are a local or international traveller.
Fitness classes

I would admit that I’m lazy. But during this vacation, it was all about doing new things and enjoying to the fullest. This was actually my first time in a fitness class—my first day on a treadmill. It felt nice anyway.
What I like most are the fitness trainers who took their time to teach me and other newbies how to use some fitness machines. In addition, they helped us to lift light weights from the start.
Now, I’m a fitness enthusiast due to my nice experience at Voyager Beach Resort in Mombasa. Therefore, I would encourage anyone to have a try in this amazing resort for a relaxing and fitting holiday.
Babysitting services

I had a privilage to befriend a lady from Uganda, who had come along with a 1.5years child and a group of other ladies. She would leave her child with a babysitter in the resort and enjoy her day with her friends.
The Voyager Beach Resort has child-friendly meals, making mothers happy to travel with their infants. However, this lady was still breastfeeding her child and would steal some minutes to attend to her child.
Therefore, don’t let your child’s age deny you happiness along the Kenyan coast. Voyager Resort is your ideal destination for a memorable vacation with your child.
Adult and kid’s pool

I think I’m not the only one who feels unsafe and shy about wearing swimming costumes with children around. This resort has a swimming pool for kids and adults, making it a good experience for everyone.
Furthermore, the kid’s pool is shallow and is always monitored closely by swimming professionals in the resort. Therefore, knowing your child is safe, you will enjoy swimming or doing other activities.
A Night Club with a DJ in Voyager Beach Resort
Having visited numerous nightclubs with my friends on campus, I was eager to see what happens in this resort. So, every night, there is a DJ in the nightclub.
I really enjoyed the expertise of DJs in this resort. From local mixes to international music suitable for clubbing. In addition, the resort hires some artists for live performances once in a while. I was lucky to visit during the opportune time to watch live performances by renowned artists in Kenya and Tanzania.
Children’s Playground (indoor & outdoor)

Still, your children will have plenty of play as they wish. The Voyager Beach Resort has children’s playground with essential facilities.
The good news is that these play areas have children professionals monitoring their play. In addition, they are very keen to remove things that could cause accidents during the play.
The children’s play areas are both indoor and outdoor, making playing suitable at any time, whether sunny or rainy.
Conference and meeting facilities

My friend from Uganda and her female friends had a conference for a common investing club. They booked a conference room in the resort to carry on their meetings during their stay.
The conference rooms are fully equipped with comfortable chairs and cozy tables. In addition, each group member had a bottled water at the table next to their chair.
A Salon in Voyager Beach Resort

I managed to visit the salon at the resort, and I must say that those salonists are talented. They removed my hairstyle, which I had during my graduation the previous week and did a new one.
I requested backlines, and they were very neat. The salon had some amazing music in the background, ensuring no one was bored.
Massage in Voyager Beach Resort

I really wanted to relax during my stay at the Voyager Beach Resort. Therefore, I would often visit the massage room almost daily for the one-week vacation. You can choose whether you need a male or female massage in the massage parlour.
What I liked about the massage experts was their professionalism in their work. They did everything perfectly well, from start to finish. No uncouth behaviour there.
Shops
I had forgotten to pack my bathing soap, I guess due to the anxiety of travelling to a resort for the first time. I usually have an allergy when using some brands of bathing soap. So it was important to have the particular brand I usually use.
At first, I was stranded when I was unpacking after I got to my room. However, I got outside my sea view room and was happy to see some shops within the resort. That’s how I got to buy my favourite soap and some other personal care necessities during my stay in the resort.
A Banquet room

Before leaving for Uganda, my friend and her club members had a party and they invited me. They just organized with the resort’s staff about what they needed to eat and drink, and all was sorted.
The banquet room was well-decorated with flowers, lovely curtains, and seat & table covers. In addition, the meals were delicious, done by professional chefs of the Voyager Beach Resort.
Therefore, whatever event you have, whether a wedding, a birthday party, or an anniversary, you can rely on this resort for a memorable occasion.

Activities in Voyager Beach Resort
Every holiday feels whole with fun activities you can engage in during the day. I enjoyed every bit of being at Voyager Beach Resort in Mombasa. The resort usually has planned activities for its guests around Mombasa or on safaris along the coastal area.
A Visit to Fort Jesus Monument in Mombasa
The Voyager Beach Resort creates a safari to the famous Fort Jesus in Mombasa. It is a captivating adventure you wouldn’t like to miss. Having read about this monument in my history books, I was very eager to unveil all about it.
The Portuguese-built fortress, dating back to 1593, unveils tales of maritime conquest in Mombasa. At the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the museum, within its coral stone walls, reveals artifacts that narrate centuries of trade and turmoil.
In addition, roaming through dungeons and barracks, the fort’s storied past comes alive. I also noticed there are breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean from its ramparts, creating a mesmerizing backdrop.
A Tour to Gede Ruins
I also had a chance to visit the Gede Ruins with other travellers at Voyager Beach Resort. It’s a journey into the lush heart of history and nature. The park is located in the coastal region, 97km from the resort. This archaeological gem boasts the remnants of the ancient Swahili town of Gede.
We had a guided exploration while unveiling the centuries-old ruins, intricately designed mosques, and mysterious tombs, painting a vivid picture of the past.
The park’s dense forest teems with wildlife, offering glimpses of monkeys, birds, and unique flora.
In addition, the Gede ruins seamlessly intertwine cultural heritage with natural beauty. This creates an enchanting experience that echoes through the coastal breeze, leaving indelible memories for every adventurer from Voyager Beach Resort.
A Tour to National Marine Park
Moreover, the Marine National Park is just around 116 km away from Voyager Beach Resort. Snorkelling through vibrant coral gardens and swimming alongside an array of marine life, we were all treated to a kaleidoscope of colours beneath the surface. My phobia of many waters ended that day, lol!
The park’s diverse ecosystems, from seagrass beds to coral reefs, provide a habitat for an abundance of fish species.
In addition, we had guided boat tours and a chance to witness the synergy between aquatic creatures and their environment.
The Marine National Park, an aquatic paradise, promises an immersive journey that complements the coastal charm of Voyager Beach Resort.
Mombasa Harbour
Furthermore, we had a visit to the Mombasa Harbour, an integral part of the city’s maritime legacy. Just around 5 km from the resort is the harbour, a bustling trade hub for centuries.
The rest of the team and I had a great view of colossal ships, bustling docks, and maritime activities.
The harbour’s significance in trade and commerce connects Mombasa to the world. With its maritime allure, this harbour complements the cultural and historical richness. Therefore, as a traveller in Voyager Beach Resort, don’t hesitate when you are called for a trip in this harbour.
Port Tudor
As part of your coastal exploration from Voyager Beach Resort, we had a journey to Port Tudor, just 14 km from the resort. The port showcases the industrial landscape of Mombasa.
At least I had a view of the intricate ballet of container ships being loaded and unloaded. Having graduated with a degree in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management, this was a good exposure at the shores.
Witnessing the arrival of cargo ships and admiring the efficient operations of Port Tudor gave me a unique perspective.
Nyali Beach
Nyali Beach, around 4 km from Voyager Beach Resort, also extends an invitation to sun-soaked relaxation. We all had fun in the pristine sandy shores of the Indian Ocean.
The warm coastal breeze carries the scent of the sea as palm trees sway, providing a picturesque backdrop for leisurely strolls.
We also had water sports and activities abound, offering both excitement and serenity. It was my first time on a water motorbike, with an experienced guide, of course.
Voyager Beach Resort: The Bottom Line
It was such an amazing experience visiting the Voyager Beach Resort in Mombasa. From cultural visits to beach rides and great meals and accommodation, I had a nice holiday for one week.
I know you can relax and rejuvenate in this beach resort, whether a local or international tourist. However, if you need to engage in more watersports, such as diving and windsurfing, Diani Beach is your best destination.
