Man arrested over death at rented airbnb in Kenya
Police in Nairobi have arrested a man who is suspected of stabbing his girlfriend to death at an airbnb in Kenya’s South B Estate.
The body of the 26-year-old woman was found lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds by the owner of the Airbnb in Papino Apartments, which she had been renting out to clients as an Airbnb.
This is after a watchman at the gate had alerted her that he had seen her client leaving in a hurry with blood-stained clothes, forcing her to rush to the residence.

Finding it locked, she used her spare key to access the house and found the woman lying naked “in a foetal position” in the sitting room with stab wounds near the left ear and on the thigh, a police report said.
“There were other visible injuries on the body and her clothes were on the sofa set,”it added.
The incident was reported at South B Police Station. Officers who visited the crime scene found a trail of blood leading to the bedroom, which was trashed indicating a struggle. They also found a blood stained kitchen knife, condoms,a bottle of an alcoholic drink among other personal items.
Makadara Deputy Police Commander Dennis Omuko told Nation that detectives were able to track the suspect, identified as Mr John Matara (34), to the Mbagathi County Hospital in Kibra Sub-county, where he was seeking treatment for knife wounds on his legs and arms.
“He was arrested, treated and escorted to Industrial Area Police Station together with his friend Antony Nyongesa, aged 25 years, who was assisting him at the hospital,” the police report went on to say.
Efforts by Nation who broke to reach the owner of the house for comment were futile as she refused to respond to calls or answer text messages.”
